Your Social Media Posts Aren't Bringing You New Clients (And What Actually Works)
Key Takeaways
Most social posts fail because they're built around the same tools and topics every other coach is already using.
People now ask AI tools like ChatGPT the same questions they used to type into Google. If your posts can't answer those questions, someone else gets picked.
The fix isn't posting more. It's writing about what your future clients are actually asking, in words that still sound like you.
One well-researched piece can outwork a dozen random ones, especially when it's built to show up in both search results and AI answers.
Getting found is step one. Getting found by the right people, the ones ready to hire you, is the actual goal.
You've spent hours on that post. You picked the topic, wrote it carefully, hit publish. Then... nothing. No comments, no new clients, barely any views.
Here's the part nobody tells you: it's probably not your writing. It's the topic.
You're Not Doing Anything Wrong. You're Just Fighting the Wrong Fight
Most coaches use the same handful of keyword tools everyone else uses. Those tools hand out the same data to every single person who logs in. So everyone ends up posting about the exact same topics, in the exact same way, competing for the exact same small slice of attention.
You're not behind. You're just in a crowded room, shouting the same thing as everyone else.
And here's what makes it harder now: the room changed. A 2026 survey from Orbit Media found that more than half of people now start their search by opening an AI app like ChatGPT instead of Google. Your future clients are asking AI who to hire before they ever land on a profile or a website.
If your content can't answer their real question, in their words, AI has no reason to mention you. And neither does Google.
What Actually Gets You Found
Getting found by the right people isn't about posting more. It's about writing about the right things, in a way both people and AI tools can understand and trust. That comes down to three shifts.
Find what people are really asking, not what a tool guesses. Skip the generic keyword list. Look at the actual questions your ideal clients type into Google, ask on YouTube, or post in Facebook groups when they're close to hiring someone like you. Those are the topics worth writing about.
Write for a real question, not a broad theme. A post titled "5 Productivity Tips" answers nothing specific. A post titled "Why I Can't Stick to a Morning Routine Even Though I Know It Works" answers something a real person is actually stuck on. AI tools and search engines both favor content that directly answers a specific question over content that circles a general topic.
Show up in more than one place, not everywhere. One strong post can become a video, a few social posts, and a podcast talking point. You don't need to be on every platform. You need your best thinking to show up where your ideal client is already looking, including inside AI answers.
None of this means handing your voice over to a template or a generic AI prompt. The whole point is content that still sounds like you, not something that reads like everyone else's prompt-pack output. That's the difference between posting more and actually getting picked.
A Quick Example
One Visibility Edge client in the fitness space had a single blog post that had been sitting quietly for months. We didn't find the topic through a keyword tool. We found it by looking at the actual questions their customers were asking before buying.
That one post went on to become one of their biggest sources of new client inquiries. We're pulling the exact numbers together with the client's permission before we publish them here, so consider this a preview, not the full case study yet.
What This Means for You
You don't need to post more. You need the right posts, built around real questions your future clients are already asking, still sounding like you, and a system that carries the weight so it's not all on your shoulders.
That's the whole idea behind getting found, trusted, and chosen: showing up with the answer someone needs, right when they're looking for it, whether they're searching Google or asking an AI tool for a recommendation. Clients who arrive this way already trust you before the first conversation happens. You stop chasing and start choosing.
